Style Trend: False Lashes

False this false that. You can find almost anything on the human body that can be falsified into perfection and beauty; breasts, firmer skin, hair extensions, lashes you name it!
Now we've all seen the usual false lashes, the dull packets you get at your local pharmacy or beauty store.
However if your looking for some oomph in the false lash department, take a look at the late Japanese make-up artist Shu Uemura and his label under the same name.
Being quite affordable, with lashes ranging from as low as $16 to $95 there are a range of lashes to suit any occasion; with normal subtle lashes to flamboyant feathery thick lashes for that special occasion, lashes that have lace and mink fur attached to it or even some sequinned lashes that "take drama to a whole new level".
While the only reason why personally I don't wear false lashes is simply because I'm too uncoordinated enough to get them on (hilarious i know!) otherwise I would love to try some of these lashes indeed!
Actually I was thinking of buying a pair and giving it a go and risk not being able to place them on me! But at the affordable price range why not give it a go and stand out from the pack. Now in the modern fast paced world, the usual mascara and primer is not enough for your lashes and in turn your eyes to be noticed without some pizazz like Shu Uemura's creations.
For those fashionistas out there Viktor & Rolf have even collaborated and created a range of lashes with Shu Uemura:

Tokyo Lash Bar 2008 is taking another exciting direction with "Couture Collection," featuring an artistic collaboration with Dutch fashion designers Viktor & Rolf , undoubtedly one of the most talked about designer duos in the fashion community.
Viktor & Rolf exclusively designed three Couture eyelashes inspired by their latest collection. Encased in a luxurious white box complete with a masquerade eye mask, the collection blends Viktor & Rolf's artistic and conceptual approach to design with shu uemura's avant-garde vision:

False Eyelashes Wing Couture
Beautiful, artistic and intricate, these lashes are delicate black and light as a wing. Handcrafted one by one to form graduating layers of scales, they are the ultimate luxury of "beauty fashion" accessories.
Price $95.00

False Eyelashes Rhombus Couture
Inspired by both fashion and form, this upper and lower luxe brown set with sparkling gold rhombus pieces adds dramatic flare to any make-up look.
Price $95.00 False Eyelashes Swirl Couture
Voluminous black flare adds a dramatic feel to these cute and rich lashes. The long, outer eyelashes are accentuated with an airy curl taking the ordinary blink to an extraordinary level.
Price $95.00

Some might say over the top but I say why not? Lashes are merely another canvas for artistic expression just as hair, makeup, clothing and shoes are for the body :)

love & luck,

I must confess, I've never used false eyelashes either, I've always liked my natural lashes but I think the main reason is they seem so fiddly! Some of those look amazing though! I have a big night out planned in a couple of weeks for which I have to "glam up". Perhaps I'll give them a go!

Haha I totally agree with you there; false lashes are fiddly!
I know I'm going to give these a go! I love the sequinned ones (though Im not gusty enough to wear them) and the black lace with mink lashes :)
Thanks for stopping by!

I am addicted to Shu Uemura lashes! I must admit that I ususally get a coordiated gay friend to put them on for me though! Not sure about US, but in London some of the lash bars will actually trim them and apply them for you, very handy before a night out!
xx

I love false lashes b/c I don't have long lashes myself, but unless it's self-stick, I have a heck of a time even trying to put it on. Hence, special occasions only.

too bad they cost like a bajillion dollars!

Ashleigh: not as expensive as you think! Around $80-120 (Aus) though they are very pricey for false lashes; having said that they can be used again and again. Definitely reusable! :)
